This 90-minute program will present to Connecticut lawyers an understanding of the very lengthy Franchise Disclosure Document, required by the Federal Trade Commission to be provided to all prospective franchisees. The session will also cover ancillary franchise documents such as leases, software agreements, personal guarantees, and electronic funds transfers as well as how to spot a franchisor that has a promising future and one that may not. A discussion of the meaning, significance, and workings of the mediation and arbitration provisions in franchise agreements, and their import to the franchise relationship in general will also be covered.
